Our History

The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization. It was chartered by Congress in 1919. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization and has a long history of mentoring and sponsoring the youth through youth programs, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.

Vision Statement

Our goal is to continue providing quality support to all participating Post 1799 Legionnaires, their families, and neighborhood youths.

We aim to understand the American Legion’s Four Pillars: Veterans Affairs & Assistance, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. We also promote individual integrity, self worth and social camaraderie in an "outreach" focus and approach to the community.
