Hon. Rollin A. Van Broekhoven
Hon. Rollin A. Van Broekhoven was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Central America. Commissioned as a 2LT in 1962, he served 15 years in the U.S. Army, including roles as Assistant General Counsel of the Army and later the Navy. A member of the Judge Advocate General Corps, he advised senior Army leadership on government procurement and served on the Army Systems Acquisition Review Council.
After leaving the military, he worked as a senior procurement attorney for the Department of the Navy and later served 32 years as a federal judge in Washington, DC.
He has held international academic and leadership roles, including President of ICFO (Amsterdam) and Visiting Professor at the China University of Political Science and Law and the University of Oxford. He has also served on numerous nonprofit boards and is a frequent lecturer and author on jurisprudence.
He holds multiple advanced degrees (JD, LLM, DPhil, DLitt) and completed postdoctoral work at institutions including the University of Virginia, Oxford, and the Hague Academy of International Law. He is admitted to several courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and has received honorary degrees from Gordon College and Collegium Augustinianum.
